Skydemon kicks the hell out of a Garmin 795

Group: Forum Members Posts: 59, Visits: 108	Well I am a long time user of Skydemon and have just recently upgraded my Ipad 1 to an Ipad 3 which has improved my experience but today a friend offered my a long term loan of a Garmin 795. Although I love SD I always rated my Garmin devices before and so I was excited to go flying with it today. Well that was an experience!!! Here are the bad points about the Garmin 795: 1. The Garmin 795 is actually quite small 2. The screen is poor resolution compared to any Ipad but particularly to the Ipad3 3. It is hugely expensive when compared to the Ipad and SD 4. You cant hide airspace and airways above x height so the map is just a mess or you declutter so you see no airspace. 5. The 3vision is poor. Its is small and the terrain view is hopeless. The virtual radar is much clearer. 3D would be good if it was done by SD I am sure (Hint) 6. Its more fiddly to navigate around than you would imagine. Here are the good points: 1. You can connect a Xaon XRX PCAS and see traffic on its screen. 2. ..............................Cant think of anything else. I have included two screen shots. I know which I prefer. The Ipad as well as being much clearer is four times the size of the map on the Garmin. You can get the map bigger if you turn of the panel though but nothing like the Ipad.
